Afghanistan, Bangladesh to battle in white-ball series after Asia Cup

Afghanistan will be hosting Bangladesh for three ODIs & three T20Is, right after the conclusion of the Asia Cup, which runs from September 09 to 28. The white-ball series will be played in October, both the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) & Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the same. The series will be played in the UAE, the same venue where the Continental Cup will be played.

After a few days' rest, Bangladesh & Afghanistan will resume the white-ball series with three T20I games starting October 02. The second and third T20I will be played on October 03 & 05, respectively, before the ODI leg kicks off on October 08, with the second and third games scheduled on October 11 & 14. Naseeb Khan, CEO of the ACB, is pleased to host Bangladesh and said the white-ball series will only strengthen the bond between the countries.

Nizamuddin Chowdhury, BCB CEO, also echoed the same sentiments of ACB CEO, saying, the series will present both teams a chance to fine tune ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Both Afghanistan and Bangladesh have had a storied history in ICC events and Asia Cup games. While this rivalry is not as big as, say a India vs Pakistan, or Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, Afghanistan's giant strides in the white-ball format makes them no pushovers in ICC event or Asia Cup tournament.
