India Women's opening batter Pratika Rawal has been fined 10% of her match fee and also handed one demerit point for 'avoidable physical contact' during the first ODI against England Women's team on Tuesday, July 15. The right-hand batter was charged for two separate incidents that occurred during India's run chase in Southampton, which they won by four wickets.
The first incident occurred when Rawal played a ball from Lauren Filer in the 18th over and ran across for a quick single, but while reaching the non-striker's end, he made physical contact with the bowler. The second offense occurred in the next over itself when she was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone for 51-ball 36. On the way back to the dressing room, the opener made contact with England's off-spinner.
