India pacer Mohammed Siraj deservedly received a hero's welcome on his return to his hometown in Hyderabad on Wednesday, August 06. The pacer who finished the fifth and final Test Oval Test with match-winning figures of 9/190 won the player of the match award, as India drew the five-match Test series 2-2.
Siraj was especially lethal in the second innings as he took five wickets, the icing on the cake being the last wicket of Gus Atkinson, with the hosts needing just seven runs to win the game. The veteran bowled a colossal 185 overs - the most by the bowler across both teams & also played all five Tests for India. His lion-hearted efforts were lauded by all, and now he is the toast of the entire nation for his fight and determination throughout the series.

In a video that is going viral on social media, Mohammed Siraj can be seen coming out of the Hyderabad airport and getting a warm reception from thousands of fans as he makes his way towards his car.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association is planning a grand felicitation for Siraj
Notably, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is also planning a grand felicitation to local hero Siraj as he finished the England series as the leading wicket taker, with 23 wickets to his name.
"We have not spoken to him yet. But we will certainly plan something (felicitation) for him, as he has been in the city for a while now. It's a matter of pride for all of us that he did so well for the country in the series against England," a Hyderabad Cricket Association official told PTI.

Despite pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah being rested for the final Oval Test, Siraj did not let the pacer bowler's absence hurt India in any way, as he kept on coming relentlessly at England batters. Despite literally being on his last haunches, Siraj only had one thing on his mind - to help India win the Oval Test.
